Capital One is actively seeking a strong technical resource to enhance the systems that powers Capital One's Android and iOS mobile applications. Successful candidates will possess strong, demonstrable skills in the areas of enterprise Linux, system automation, and software development tools as well as possessing experience working alongside development teams.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the day to day operation of Capital One's systems and infrastructure that powers our mobile application (ensuring system availability, performance, capacity, and continuity through proper response to incidents, events and problems)
- Troubleshoot and expeditiously resolve escalated software and infrastructure related issues and challenges
- Develop procedures to automate various systems and tasks (automating code builds and deployments)
- Explore and evaluate new and emerging software tools and technologies
- Experience working in a continuous integration and continuous delivery environment (fully automated production releases)
- Experience using continuous integration and build tools: Jenkins or Maven
- Experience in any of the following open source database technologies: MySQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL
- Advocate DevOps best practices and mentor engineers across the company and within the local community
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree or military experience
- At least 3 years of experience in system administration/DevOps
- At least 3 years of experience in software development in Java
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience managing UNIX machines (bare-metal or VMs)
Preferred Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Information Technology
- 2 years of experience programing in any of the following software languages: Java, JavaScript, Ruby, Python, Perl
- 2 years of experience in core protocols and technologies: TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, load balancers, and firewalls
- 2 years of experience configuring and deploying applications to any of the following: AWS, OpenStack, Docker, Stackato
- 1 year of experience using any of the following application monitoring and log management tools: New Relic, Splunk, Logstash
- 1 year of experience with configuration management tools Ansible, Salt, Puppet, Chef
